Tate Britain in pillole

Domenica Mr.Fedo ed io siamo andati alla Tate Britain, perché la domenicha è il giorno in cui facciamo i turisti.
Inutile dire che ci sono un'infinità di opere che vale la pena di vedere alla Tate e non siamo riusciti neppure a vederle tutte, ma torneremo.
On Sundays, Mr.Fedo and I play as tourists in London. This Sunday we visited the Tate Britain.
It was amazing, there are so many beautiful things that it was not possible for us to see the whole gallery in a single visit. In the end, we were too tired to keep exploring the gallery further, but of course we'll return.

Burn the midnight oil

idioma: lavorare/studiare fino a tardi, di notte. Allusione al lavorare alla luce delle lampade ad olio... avete presente Leopardi? Ecco: non imitatelo!

Night and Day (rooms)

Oggi vi mostro la camera "Blue Night" e la camera "Sunny Day".

Il perché di questi nomi è presto detto.

In Inghilterra non ci sono persiane alle fineste, in compenso, le ore di luce solare in estate sono molte di più che in italia. A luglio il sole tramonta verso le 9:30 e sorge alle 3:30 del mattino.

Capirete bene perché abbiamo deciso di mettere la nostra camera da letto nella stanza più buia della casa, rinunciando alla finestra e spostando, con l'aiuto dei traslocatori, il letto e le cassettiere da una parte all'altra della casa.

The reason of these nick names is easily explained.
Here in England the summer days are much longer than in Italy, sometime this could make it troublesome to sleep.
So, we have decided to put our bedroom in the darkest room of the flat, the one without windows. The main color of the furniture is white, beside my blue birds on the chest of drawers on the left side of the bed and our hand printed cushions.
